Dan Bolkema
Dan started in the trades right out of high school in the family painting business in West Michigan. After several years painting, he transitioned into building and started Bolkema Construction. Projects ranged from residential and commercial renovation to design-build custom homes. Eventually, evenings were spent earning a Bachelor's in Ministry Leadership, and after 18 years in construction, the business was closed and he transitioned into the church, eventually becoming ordained as a pastor.
While pastoring, he also led the church through a master planning process and a large scale renovation of the campus, carrying out the first several phases of the master plan. After a season in the church, he headed back to the marketplace where he connected with Chad. They discovered a shared vision for a business with a greater purpose, so together they started BiCoastal Building Group.
Chad Bayes
Chad started in the trades right out of high school in the family construction business. After 15 years in the family business in Ohio, he moved to Florida and took a job with a large commercial firm as a Project Manager and eventually added estimating to his skill set. During his tenure, his projects were heavily focused in hospitals, restaurants, and inside airports. Along the way, Chad and his wife served faithfully in their church until eventually he was ordained as a pastor, serving nights and weekends in this capacity.
Chad continued to work with the same firm until he felt it was time to venture out and start his own company. He connected with Dan, and discovered they shared a vision for a business with a greater purpose. Together they started BiCoastal Building Group.
